ILMA Past President Jim Taglia Speaks to STLE about ILMA Ethics Program

ALEXANDRIA, VA (May 15, 2008) — ILMA Past President Jim Taglia will present "Raising the Bar of Oil Quality Representation," on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the STLE Annual Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio.

"Since the Association launched its initiative last year, a great deal of progress has been made, including sample testing on passenger car motor oils," ILMA President Anwer Hussain said. "Jim is the founder of this very critical ILMA program and to have him speak to STLE underlines the importance of having everyone involved in blending lubricants aware of ILMA's activities and the ethics initiative."

The testing program will be expanded this year to include tractor hydraulic fluids and later, automatic transmission fluids. Current partners in the Industry Task Forces include the American Petroleum Institute, and the American Chemistry Council. In addition, OEMs Case New Holland and John Deere participate in the THF task force.

"We are working with a number of industry and OEM groups to bring ethics to the forefront of not only the Association, but the industry," ILMA Executive Director Celeste M. Powers, added. "ILMA members have shared their thoughts on the program and its successes thus far. I am looking forward to seeing Jim's presentation and hearing the feedback from STLE members as well."

STLE is the Society of Tribologists & Lubrication Engineers, the premier technical society serving the needs of more than 10,000 individuals and 150 companies and organizations that comprise the tribology and lubrication engineering business sector.
