ILMA Extends Deadline for Scholarship Applications

ALEXANDRIA, VA (June 25, 2008) — ILMA announced yesterday it extended the deadline for students to apply for 2008-09 ILMA Scholarships through July 6, 2008. "The Scholarship Committee recognizes that school just ended a few weeks ago for incoming college freshman," ILMA Executive Director Celeste M. Powers said. "We wanted to give all students within the ILMA family the opportunity to apply for this valuable scholarship."

"ILMA is a community and through the support of its Members, we have been able to grow this program to the level that it is today," Scholarship Committee Chair and ILMA Past President, Jim Kudis added. "We all know someone who is attending college and through this valuable program, you can help them and assist ILMA in giving back. We look forward to reviewing the applications every year, reading the stories of why the students are applying and seeing the outstanding number of worthy candidates and their achievements and goals. Trust me, it is never an easy decision in selecting the winners."

Last year 11 deserving students were awarded with scholarships. There are currently 21 students in the program and 14 have graduated.

The scholarship awards, up to $1,000 each year, are available for qualifying students: rising freshman through graduate students.

• Funds will be sent directly to the academic institute.
• Once awarded, each scholarship is renewable annually up to four years, based on maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
