
ILMA Awards Scholarships to Seven Students
ALEXANDRIA, VA (August 14, 2008) ILMA is pleased to announce it has selected seven students to join the 36 current recipients for the ILMA Scholarship. This year the committee received a record 82 applications.
- Ben Anderson, of Milwaukee, Wisc., a rising junior at Wisconsin University - Stevens Point, is studying biology. Mr. Anderson learned about the scholarship from his grandfather, Dick Hey, who is retired from ExxonMobil Corporation.
- Paul Belcher, of Woodbury Heights, N.J., is enrolling as a freshman at Richard Stockton State College, where he will study business/marketing. Mr. Belcher learned about the scholarship from ILMA Member Beth Sheehan, Vice President of Hangsterfer's Laboratories, Inc., in Mantua, N.J.
- Shelly Franklin, of Vincent, Ala., will be studying elementary education when she enrolls at University of Montevallo. Ms. Franklin's mother, Lynn O'Neal, works for ILMA Member Company Triad Lubrication, in Pelham, Ala.
- Samuel Huston, of Langhorne, Penn., is a rising sophomore at Penn State University Park, and continues to study supply chain management. Mr. Huston learned about the scholarship from his father, Bryan Huston, VP Sales and Marketing for Acme-Hardesty, in Blue Bell, Penn.
- Margaret Julian, of Gallitzin, Penn., plans to study biology as she enters the University of Pittsburgh this fall. Ms. Julian learned about the scholarship from her uncle, Gary Julian, who is Chairman of Advanced Lubrication Specialties, in Bensalem, Penn.
- Joseph Nick, Jr., of Okmulgee, Okla., plans to graduate from the University of Oklahoma in May 2009 with a degree in chemical engineering. Mr. Nick learned about the scholarship through his internship at Sunoco, Inc.
- Michael Stieber, of Akron, Ohio, is studying architecture and is a rising junior at Kent State University. Mr. Stieber learned about the scholarship from his mother, Wanda Mroczek, Quality Manager for Functional Products, Inc., in Macedonia, Ohio.
Founded in 2000 by ILMA's Past Presidents' Panel, the Association has awarded more than $90,000 in financial aid to over 40 students. The program has experienced record growth with applications more than tripling in the last two years. Interested students can apply next, in April 2009.
The ILMA Member Companies fund this program through annual donations. The Association also donates to the program each year.
