You and the ILMA Community

The ILMA Community is 308 Member Companies - and growing. The ILMA community has remained strong throughout the years, increasing membership every year.

The ILMA Community strengthens business relationships. The diverse composition of membership helps members to establish and maintain business relationships. The 2008 Annual Meeting Attendee Survey shows that 92 percent of respondents attend ILMA meetings for the opportunity to network with other members.

The ILMA Community supports the next generation. In 2008, ILMA Member Companies contributed $42,800 to the ILMA Scholarship Program. With the support this year, and from previous years, ILMA has provided financial assistance to more than 40 college students, and more than $90,000 in financial aid to friends and relatives of ILMA Member Company employees.

The ILMA Community reaches out to elected officials. By launching the "Invite Your Member of Congress to Your Plant" campaign, ILMA Members were given the opportunity to build relationships with their Congressional Representatives. Through this program, ILMA members were able to give elected officials a tour of their companies, introduce them to their employees, and inform them about their business and its impact locally, as well as nationally. Through ILMA's CongressWeb feature, members can contact their legislators directly on issues affecting them today.

The ILMA Community looks out for you inside the Beltway. During rapidly increasing prices in base oils, ILMA submitted requests for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to enforce provisions of the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) to protect its members from unreasonable industry practices. ILMA has also submitted letters on behalf of our Members on a variety of topics affecting our industry.

The ILMA Community reaches globally. ILMA coordinated the REACH consortium to assist its members in meeting the regulations and compliances necessary to do business in the European Union. The consortium provided strategies for members to work together instead of dealing with the high costs involved alone.

The ILMA Community spreads knowledge. Together, ILMA's monthly publication, Compoundings Magazine, awarded "Best in Print" from the Printing Industries of Virginia, and the redesigned weekly e-newsletter, FLASHPoint, provide constant exposure for ILMA member companies seeking to strengthen their brand awareness within the industry. The annual Membership Directory puts you in touch with fellow members across the country.

ILMA provides a wealth of lubrication industry resources and information here on the website to provide members up-to-date data to assist them with making key decisions for continuous success in an ever-changing economy.
