Supply chains relying on crossing the Mexican border are expected to face increased delays for the foreseeable future after border officers were directed to deal with an immigration surge. Economist Stephen Juneau said that the monthly cost to U.S. businesses might increase by $5.5 million, while the added cost of an individual truckload is roughly $40 to $80.
